Elta has become the first UK axial fan manufacturer to achieve the Eurasian Customs Union’s (EAC) EX certificate, which assesses the suitability of products used in potentially explosive environments across Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
Administered by the Custom Union Technical Regulation (CUTR), the EX certificate is the Eurasian equivalent of the European Union’s ATEX directives.
The certification is set to benefit UK manufacturers targeting the Eurasian chemical, oil and gas industries, as well as offshore, marine and food production.
Damian Buxton, Chief Executive at Elta, said: “The requirements of the EAC EX certificate are extremely stringent and we’re pleased to have become the first UK fan manufacture to achieve this. As a result, any fans built for use in the Eurasia region will have an EX EAC mark with a number unique to Elta, enabling access to industrial markets in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and soon both Armenia and Kyrgyzstan as well.
“Cross border trading is imperative to the UK economy and, in particular the manufacturing sector. As an original equipment manufacturer it is beholden on us to ensure that we meet the requirements of as many nations and regions as possible, to ensure machinery and equipment manufacturers can target markets relevant to them no matter where they happen to be.”
