Elta were an important part of the winning team that provided ventilation for The Raceway Bristol, the South West’s most popular go-karting arena and for The Raceway Birmingham, the new two-circuit, multi-level karting arena in the West Midlands.
The Raceway Group is one of the longest established and most experienced karting operators in the UK. The Raceway’s Bristol circuit is the biggest and widest in the area. The track boasts a large flyover for an exhilarating racing experience and a raised spectator area, providing an excellent view of the circuit.
The original enquiry at the Bristol circuit involved the ventilation of the pit lane to remove petrol fumes produced by standing karts. Distributor Lindab-Bristol fitted four Elta Compact PowerPlus SCPP units. The robust, heavy-duty contra-rotating fans offer an economical, straightforward ventilation solution by achieving the additional performance required beyond those provided by single-stage fans. Pressure developments are typically three times higher since the second-stage fan is fed by a pre-rotating air supply, which means the workload for the fan is dramatically cut.
Following the success of the first installation, Lindab-Bristol, won two further contracts at the Bristol site to ventilate the track itself and the company’s ‘Lazer Combat’ site alongside – the city’s largest and only multi-floored laser-tag arena.
Elta is part of the £85 million Elta Group, a family of businesses with operations in six countries on four continents which, together with a network of international distributors, provides quality fans and related air movement equipment to customers worldwide.
